The Power of Partnerships

In the pages that follow, we offer updates on three multi-faceted initiatives, some still unfolding, that demonstrate the power of partnerships.

  • Ball State University. A cluster of grants made over several years came to fruition with the expansion of key athletic venues and the Owsley Museum of Art, as well as the retrofit of the Charles W. Brown Planetarium. These facilities not only benefit the BSU student body but also connect the community to a first-rate academic institution.

  • Camp Crosley. On the eve of its centennial celebration, the camp underwent a dramatic makeover. The addition of the H2 Whoa Zone caused interest to spike in the historic camp whose purpose goes far beyond fun and games. “We’re in the business of changing kids’ lives,” says the camp’s executive director.

  • Inner City Educational League. Five youth-serving organizations—as well as BSU’s Sports Link—participated in ICE League’s rollout season. The league tapped into boys’ love of basketball and linked performance in the classroom to playing time on the court.
