A Note from our President & CEO

Throughout this year, Ball Brothers Foundation has been working to ramp up communications with our stakeholders: grantees, community and regional leaders, extended Ball family members, and others.

A key part of our new strategic plan calls for us to serve as a vocal advocate for Muncie and East Central Indiana. This month's e-newsletter highlights several grants that make our community shine:

Finally, as we plan for future communications, we want your feedback. If you haven't yet taken our 2 minute survey, please do.Your responses are important to helping us tailor our newsletters and other communications.

Sincerely,

High School Broadcasting Students Travel State to Film Back-to-School Video

When Indiana's Secretary of Education visited Burris Laboratory School in May, she invited students in the school's emerging media program to produce a back-to-school video that she could share across the state.

Teacher Rob Jones and his students accepted the challenge. This summer, they drove from Indiana Dunes National Park to the Ohio River in New Albany, capturing footage from dozens of schools in between.

Learn more about their journey and the way Ball Brothers Foundation has supported the emerging media program's development.

Join Us! Film Premiere Tomorrow

Two new mini-documentaries featuring stunning footage will premiere on Thursday, August 17 at Minnetrista. Presented in conjunction with Indiana Humanities and The Nature Conservancy, the evening will feature a total of six short films about Indiana’s waterways.

A grant to The Nature Conservancy of Indiana from Ball Brothers Foundation helped to support the production of the two mini-documentaries which shine a light on the White River as a recreational destination and on local farming and conservation practices. View the trailers here:

Q&A with Muncie Land Bank

In 2019, Ball Brothers Foundation provided a small seed grant to help local community members and Ball State University students explore how land banks in other midwest cities were dealing with abandoned and blighted property.

Five years later, the Muncie Land Bank is doing just what it envisioned-and more.
