Ball Brothers Foundation Pays Tribute to Outgoing Board Member, Will Bracken

While on a retreat to Camp Crosley in North Webster, Indiana in early October, Ball Brothers Foundation staff, officers, and directors of the board paused to pay tribute to board member, Will Bracken, for his exceptional dedication to the foundation. Having first joined the board of Ball Brothers Foundation in 1992, Will is set to retire from the board in December 2024.

For over three decades, Will served as a committed member of the board of directors, helping guide Ball Brothers Foundation through periods of significant evolution, growth, and professionalization. As a member of the Ball family, Will brought to his position unique insights into the philanthropic, ethical, and moral convictions of his forebearers, making him an invaluable resource in shaping the foundation’s direction.

Will Bracken’s leadership was instrumental in developing the foundation’s Associate Director program, creating a bridge to future generations of Ball family members and ensuring continuous attention to matters of board succession and good governance. He also played a crucial role in nurturing the interest of next generation family members in the Muncie community and to causes championed by the foundation.

It was fitting to pay homage in the serene setting of Camp Crosley, a place that has endeared itself to the Ball family for generations leading back to its inception in 1921. Will Bracken recalled his own time as a young Camp Crosley camper noting, “I was 10 years old when I joined a group of Safety Patrol kids from the Muncie area for a week at Camp Crosley. And now, 73 years later, I have returned, and what a pleasant and impressive experience I am having. I see a mixture of several original stone foundation buildings with new cabins and activity centers that continue to offer young people meaningful and maybe life-changing experiences. I am very pleased that I have been able to be a part of the foundation’s long-time support of Camp Crosley.”

Will Bracken has been a faithful steward of the Ball brothers’ legacy, embodying their timeless values of generosity, stewardship, leadership, and integrity. For over 32 years his influence has been felt by Ball Brothers Foundation, and we are deeply grateful for his unwavering commitment and service to others.

BBF President & CEO Jud Fisher presents a commemorative board resolution paying tribute to Will Bracken’s three decades of service.
