Ball Brothers Foundation Hosts Muncie Premiere of the Inspiring Story of Carl Erskine

In mid-October, Ball Brothers Foundation hosted a special documentary screening at Muncie Civic Theatre. The board, Associate Directors, and staff were joined by several hundred community members for the premiere of the new documentary, “The Best We’ve Got: The Carl Erskine Story.”

The film chronicles the inspiring life of Hoosier native, Carl Erskine. Best known as a baseball legend, Erskine has had a lifelong impact on both race relations and the treatment of individuals with disabilities.

Ball Brothers Foundation’s board, Associate Directors, and staff were honored to be joined by award-winning documentary filmmaker Ted Green as well as special guests, including Carl Erskine’s son, Gary, and his wife, Beth.

Ball Brothers Foundation awarded $50,000 in 2019 to support the production of the film and to develop educational curriculum that will be distributed to K-12 schools across Indiana.

Missed it? A future screening of the documentary is scheduled for January 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
