A Look Back at 2024
We can’t believe how quickly 2024 has flown by! This year was filled with exciting projects, inspiring partnerships, and moments that made a real difference in our community.
Take a look back with us at some of the highlights that made this year so special.
Mile by Mile: First Steps Toward Closing the Cardinal Greenway Gap
Last month, Ball Brothers Foundation joined partners in Grant County to discuss closing the 18-mile “gap” in the Cardinal Greenway. The "gap," between Gas City and Matthews, currently requires trail users to navigate country roads instead of a dedicated pathway separated from traffic.
The group first visited Upland where Taylor University is stepping up as a key partner, with exciting plans to develop nearly two miles of trail on its property west of campus. This first phase lays the groundwork for future efforts.
A Sneak Peek of the New YMCA
Earlier this month, BBF staff and the Vice Chairman of our board, Frank Petty, geared up for a firsthand look at the progress on the new YMCA in downtown Muncie. BBF has been proud to support the construction of the new Y through grants that carry on a tradition of support for this important organization.
There's so much to look forward to when the facility opens in spring 2025:
Two pools, including a warm water pool and lap pool
A walking track
Basketball courts
Multi-purpose spaces
Workout area with a stadium view of Muncie Central High School's new football field
A Note of Gratitude
As the year comes to a close, we’re feeling especially grateful for the people and organizations who work tirelessly to make East Central Indiana a better place. Your efforts inspire us every day!
Wishing you a holiday season filled with warmth, joy, and good company, from all of us at Ball Brothers Foundation.
To celebrate the season, we thought we'd share a special piece of our history—vintage artwork from Camp Crosley’s 1939 summer camp brochure. Camp Crosley is a long-time BBF grantee and is a place that has been near and dear to the Ball family for over 100 years.
2025 Grant Updates
With the new year just around the corner, we encourage you to check out the deadlines for 2025 grants and awards. If your organization plans to apply for Round 1 General Grant funding, please contact Susan Brumley to set up a time to chat with BBF staff to share your proposal idea and get feedback from our team.
