Ripple Effect: Kayak Launches, White River's New Look & More
Exciting progress is happening along the White River and across our region. At a recent convening with BBF grantees and friends from Muncie, Delaware County, and nearby communities, local leaders shared updates on:
New canoe and kayak launches
A fresh White River branding campaign
Dam removal efforts
Enhancements at Prairie Creek Reservoir
These initiatives, part of Project Blueways, are increasing access to local waterways, improving conservation, and strengthening ECI's reputation as a destination for outdoor adventure.
Our recent convening included updates on new canoe and kayak launches, including McCulloch Park currently underway with completion scheduled in summer 2025, and Memorial Drive scheduled for completion late 2025, pending funding.
Ivy Tech Muncie Launching EMT Program
A new career pathway in emergency medicine is coming to Muncie. Ivy Tech Muncie-Henry County’s EMT/Basic Emergency Medical Studies Certificate program launches in Fall 2025, preparing students to step into high-intensity, life-saving roles.
Since 2016, Ball Brothers Foundation has committed nearly $3 million to Optimus Primary, an effort to strengthen the pipeline of medical professionals training in East Central Indiana.
