2020 Fisher Governance Award nomination deadline approaching

MUNCIE, INDIANA — The deadline to nominate a board member for Ball Brothers Foundation’s annual John W. and Janice B. Fisher Governance Award is fast approaching. Delaware County nonprofits have until Aug. 15 to nominate one of their board members for the award.

Ball Brothers Foundation has been a longtime advocate for strong board leadership. The Fisher Governance Award was created to honor the important role boards play in governing nonprofits that serve the citizens of Delaware County. The award recognizes board members who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to their organization.

Jud Fisher, president and chief operating officer of Ball Brothers Foundation, said the award is more important than ever, as COVID-19 has impacted many nonprofit organizations’ operations.

“During this difficult time, many nonprofits have had to dig deep and scramble to navigate these very uncertain waters,” Fisher said. “Board members have proven to be even more valuable to the health and wellbeing of the staff and the organizations they serve. We look forward to using this year’s award to draw attention to the outstanding contributions that board members make in good times and in challenging times.”

The winner of this year’s award will be announced at the Muncie–Delaware County Chamber of Commerce dinner on Oct. 22. The recipient of the Fisher Governance Award earns a $10,000 grant to their respective organization from Ball Brothers Foundation.
