BBF continues to support community as it reaches 85 years of existence
Foundation announces second cycle grant awards for 2011
Muncie, Ind. – Ball Brothers Foundation, which turns 85 on November 19th, awarded over 30 grants to various organizations during its second and final grant making period of the year. The grants were approved at the foundation’s October board meeting. Several grants were delivered in support of Muncie Action Plan Initiatives.
“We continue to support MAP, from the new trails at Prairie Creek to Tuhey Pool enhancements to Neighborhood Revitalization efforts,” said Jud Fisher, president and chief operating officer of the foundation. “There is tremendous momentum from business, philanthropic and political leaders, as well as the general public, for MAP,” Fisher added. He stated that BBF’s mission, heavily researched needs of the community, and general community consensus were considered when making the difficult award decisions.
“It is obvious that education is paramount,” stated Fisher, referring to BBF’s grant focus, “after that, a vibrant community with things to do, that is physically attractive, and has a diverse culture rounds out a place people want to live for the long-term. Leveraging our resources and being proud of our community is so important.”
Fisher also announced executive assistant Donna Munchel received the additional title of grant process manager. “Donna is the point person for proposal intake. She helps organizations navigate our system and is often the initial contact point for Ball Brothers Foundation for general questions,” Fisher said. Munchel will attend more meetings to assist organizations with their relationship to the foundation.
Ball Brothers Foundation’s announcement includes the most recent grants payout by the foundation.
