BBF welcomes Susan Brumley to the team
The foundation is pleased to welcome Susan Brumley as the new Executive Assistant & Convenings Coordinator beginning March 1. Brumley brings with her 20 years of experience in customer service and management.
In her new role, Brumley will serve as the initial point of contact for grantees and community members wishing to connect with the foundation. She will play an instrumental role in helping the foundation expand its capacity to convene grantees, local and state-level government officials, community leaders, and others.
"Susan is highly professional and engaging. Her friendly demeanor and attention to detail will make her a great addition to our team." - Jud Fisher, President & CEO.
Grantee Spotlight: Muncie Children’s Museum raises over $2.6 million for Capital Campaign
Several years ago, Ball Brothers Foundation made the initial gift that helped to kick off the Muncie Children’s Museum’s “More to Explore” capital campaign. To date, with support from the community and local foundations, the Muncie Children’s Museum has raised over $2.6 million with a total goal of $3 million.
Learn more about the capital campaign and funding to support a new generation of future makers, innovators, and entrepreneurs who will walk through the Museum’s downtown doors.
Grantee Spotlight: Ivy Tech launches sonography training program
During the height of the COVID pandemic, Ivy Tech Community College jumped at the chance to respond to a need identified by IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital: the need for sonography technicians. In part through BBF’s “Optimus Primary” funding, Ivy Tech was able to launch a special program in Muncie to train future healthcare workers in diagnostic medical sonography.
In December, the first class of students completed the program. Check out where they are now.
In honor of Marta Moody
The team at Ball Brothers Foundation was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Marta Moody, director of the Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission, board president of Cardinal Greenways, and 2022 Fisher Governance Award recipient. Marta was a tremendously talented and a humble public servant. For decades, Marta worked to make improvements in Muncie and Delaware County. She took the ‘long view’ and led with the patient persistence needed to bring complex projects to life. She will be missed for years to come.
Reminder: Funding deadlines 2023
